Arash Assar

Biography

Arash's research focuses on identifying cognitive factors that protect against sleep disturbances in athlete and non-athlete populations. For instance, he has explored the role of self-compassion in promoting resilient responses to stress and cognitive and emotional reactions to stress in relation to sleep. Arash is also interested in examining the connections between sleep, stress, and sport. His current research centers on quantifying night-to-night fluctuations in sleep patterns among college athletes, particularly investigating the associations between variability in sleep duration and sleep timing (bedtime and waketime) and psychological outcomes.
